State-of-the-art Production Facility
Redefining Fashion Manufacturing with Innovative Design and Sustainability
At IDA&S, we recognize that innovation extends beyond our fashion designs and encompasses our production facility as well. That's why we’re proud to showcase our factory in Shantou, China designed in collaboration with Mehrdad Hadighi of Studio for Architecture.
Our factory, which occupies roughly 75% of the building's space, boasts an innovative design that enables extended floor span without column interruptions and uses a specially engineered twisted brise soleil fin structure to expand the building envelope for light and air in a sustainable way. With operable windows on the inside and built-in chimney effects, it draws hot air out while providing natural light and exterior terraces.
Our factory levels are sandwiched by non-manufacturing offices and design studios on the upper two levels, ensuring that our designers can work closely with our manufacturers to create authentic fashion lines in an all-inclusive space. Partner with us, and experience firsthand the innovation that is IDA&S.
Innovative Design Collaboration
In collaboration with Mehrdad Hadighi of Studio for Architecture, the factory showcases visionary design and architectural ingenuity. The factory levels are thoughtfully sandwiched by non-manufacturing offices and design studios on the upper floors, while the ground level functions as a dynamic showroom space, doubling as an elegant runway venue for fashion events.
Revolutionizing Concrete Construction
The factory's post-tensioning system and specially engineered twisted brise soleil fin structure create a state-of-the-art building that spans 17m x 89m per floor without any column interruptions. Vertical circulation and amenities are strategically placed in the service core, optimizing efficiency and functionality.
Sustainable and Breathable Facade
An environmentally conscious approach was taken with the building envelope. The south side, along with parts of the east and west facades, features a double façade design. Operable windows on the inside and a brise soleil 'woven textile' made of modularly cast concrete on the outside create a harmonious interplay of light and air. This design facilitates natural cooling and draws hot air out while bathing the core of the building in abundant natural light.
